Our Guiding Principles

It is the guiding principles of St Peter’s that makes our school unique. The magical blend of being a school that is committed to cutting-edge education, guided by values, a home-from-home for boarders, fully coeducational, globally-minded, and a school that illuminates an elevated student journey from Year 7 to 13, all combine to distinguish St Peter’s as a beacon school in the world.

Our People

St Peter’s is known for its exceptional young people. The achievements within our far-reaching network of alumni are a testament to our commitment to prepare students not just to make a living, but to make a positive difference in the world. Driven by the School’s values of respect, engagement, aspiration, and leadership, our students embrace the myriad opportunities available to them to both discover and deepen passions. Alongside our students is a dedicated and highly qualified team of staff and leaders, whose experience and engagement inspire and guide each student to realise and maximise their potential.

Our Programmes

St Peter’s has had a visionary curriculum since 1936, when its holistic approach distinguished the School as a leader within the education industry. We remain committed to offering a holistic and visionary curriculum through the St Peter’s Diploma, a framework which nurtures the minds, bodies and spirits of our students, and sets them on course to thrive both in school and in life beyond their school years. Alongside the NCEA, St Peter’s is also an IB World School, and the only school in the Central North Island that offers the rigorous and globally recognised International Baccalaureate.

Our Place

St Peter’s is located in a beautiful physical environment, renowned for its exceptional campus alongside the Waikato River. The School boasts an expansive array of sports fields and facilities, including an equestrian centre, a golf driving range, a boathouse on the shores of the magnificent Lake Karapiro, and a world-class Velodrome on our doorstep. Our unique position offers students a diverse and dynamic learning environment, from the outdoor classroom of an ancient stand of mighty kahikatea trees to the milking platform of a working dairy farm. With the cultural significance and serenity of Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari on our horizon, the hustle and bustle of Auckland is a mere hour and half away.
